11 years in the business this year. I love and hate it just like most everyone. I remember a manager being rude to me, and considering my position as the know-nothing new guy, and all the years experience he had. I said to myself “I’m gonna take your f-ing job one day, and I’m never going to treat a new person like this”. A close to two years later he resigned and left after rumors he was gonna be canned. I immediately asked the GM to train me and consider me for the position. Thanks Todd. You telling me no, and I wouldn’t be able to be a manager was exactly what I needed to take a better job, as a manager in a different store, and led to a great career, because I no longer worked for you 😂

Pretty good short story! Though most of us hate the car salesman. Mostly a bunch of snake 🐍 oil, greasy, greedy, slime balls. They’d rip off their own mothers to make a sale.

I try to listen to this every morning on my way to the dealership. Hearing the part at the end saying "somehow someway you've made an impact on our world" almost made me tear up the first time I heard this

15 years in, 10 in management, and I still show this video almost bi-monthly to remind the team some of the things we do, unspokenly. Brilliance in 3 mins. Bravo.

34 years selling cars and about to retire. This is well written and is spot on for 98% of the "REAL CAR GUYS" out there. I have helped many people get into their first vehicle, repair their credit and begin a financially responsible life. I love the line at 3:03 "somehow, someway, you made an impact on the world".

1:50 literally did that last week car had lot damage. Pulled another unit and helped the mechanic swap over tail light. Then helped cleanup with the car. My GSM was mad I was not with my customers. I straight up, told him if you do not see me with my customers Im I’m the department their car is in to make it faster. Then told him what I did. I also disclosed everything to the customer.

You forgot the part where you try to sell me an unnecessary warranty and get upset when I say no because you make commission on it and have management up your a** to meet warranty quotas. So you lie and say that if I change my own brake pads or windshield wipers, I void the cars warranty. And then I remind you that the magnuson-moss act says otherwise, and you double down only to be fired one week later. Include this in your next video.

This is my “anthem” if my career as a car salesman had an anthem or theme song. They need to make a new movie about the car business. There are good ones like the goods, used cars etc but not enough or new 2020/2021 versions... anybody got suggestions? Thanks! Happy selling!

As a car salesmen, I can say this is a very unhealthy way of living. What's the end result? A big pay check? Lol at the end of the day 10, 12k ain't shit when you're killing yourself.
